Hello, people in outer internet space! Today is the day that I begin my journey in blogging, claiming to be in my "thirties", and having clean teeth. Lemme explain-
Today is my birthday- I turn 30 years old at 2:22pm, and will never be able to say I'm a twenty-something again. Am I upset by this? Yes, and no. Yes, because our society is obsessed with being young and because I notice that my arse leaves larger imprints in the couch cushions than it used to- womp. No, because I am more comfortable in my skin now than I ever was in my twentys (sure, you could say it's a bit "roomier" now, however my jeans are not).
I'm starting this blog for a few reasons- I want to become a more well-rounded, happier, healthier person. Does that mean I'm going to tie daisys in my hair and do yoga in the sun more often while snacking on homemade granola bars? No, however I do like granola bars. It does means that I'm going make myself accountable for my improving my world one week at a time. This entails me making more shiny things (unicorns & glitter!), volunteering my time to others, keeping in better touch with family and friends, and decreasing the size of my current couch cushion imprint.
Oh, about having clean teeth. I went to a new dentist this morning and had my teeth cleaned. Who makes a dental appointment on their birthday? This chic does, because I like things shiny, especially my teeth. I also made an OB/GYN appointment on Valentine's Day- who does that? An idiot who wants her hubby to be seriously irritated at her on the universal "love" day- oops.
Other than going to the dentist for my birthday, we're getting new countertops installed in my shiny new kitchen! We bought our first home in Maryland a few months ago and have been updating it ever since. Hopefully I'll have pictures up soon on all the work we've done, but I highly doubt you'd want to see the kitchen at the moment- not unless you like saggy britches on sweaty workmen. Dead sexy.
In bringing my very first blog post to a close, I'd like to say thanks for stopping by and that I hope you stop in again to read more antics of a newby 30 year old. I'm currently working on a few projects for my b-day party this weekend (wooty woo woo!), which I'll be posting soon- and yes, they include glitter, alcohol, and dog hair.
Thanks, ya'll!
~Jacq.
